When shopping for auto parts online

Untitled Document

A good day could easily be ruined by a discovery that your car's headlights are no longer working. And to make things worse, you're too busy to go to the hardware store because of your work schedule or responsibilities at home.

But then again, what year is it already?!! Reality check - we are already living in a world full of conveniences with just a click of a button. One of the most useful innovations of all time is the internet. And through the internet, we can know almost about anything and the best part is, we can even do shopping.

In the comfort of your own home, you can do your personal online shopping for your auto parts. There's no longer the need to drive all the way to the store with broken headlights, silently pray that you'll get there safe and patiently look for a parking space when you get there. With online shopping, you have hundreds of choices and product descriptions to help you find out what car part is suited for your car. Aside from saving so much time, you also save your self the effort and the pressure of shopping at the store with lots of people waiting in line at the cashier.

Product reviews are also available online so that you'll know which product is the best instead of constantly asking the sales clerk the usual question, “Are you sure this is the right one?” And if still not contented with the reviews, you can even check for further product information.

Another advantage of online shopping is that it is available for 24 hours! No more waiting for the store to open or worrying if the store is already closed. You just sit down, turn on your computer and click the products you want to buy. And they will be delivered right at your doorstep within five days or even less. You can also easily return or cancel a merchandise easily and sometimes, tracking is available so that you'll know order's location before it reaches you.

Of course, online shopping also entails some precautions and responsibilities. First, you must make sure that the online store you are ordering from is a reputable one to avoid internet fraud. In order to do this, you must at least do a background checking first. Second, you need to protect your privacy by buying in secure websites only. Third, always remember to keep a copy of your online transactions for future validation purposes. And fourth, be extremely careful when checking delivery receipts because sometimes, errors can not be avoided.

When shopping for auto parts online, buyers should find some features when choosing your online stores. One is that the online store should be honest in providing product information and availability. It must be fast in the processing of orders. The shipping cost and speed should be reasonable enough and also, it should have a clear return/exchange policy to avoid problems and confusions.

If you think you have already accomplished all of the above, then i guess you're ready to shop for auto parts online. Stop worrying about finding the time to replace your broken headlights, just simply order online and enjoy the rest of your time while waiting.

Gas Mileage Secrets; will Cold Gas save you money?

With the fuel crisis still raging and the cost of gasoline going up on a nearly weekly basis, people are on the lookout for any way to achieve gas mileage improvements on their vehicles. There seems to be a resurgence of quite a few of the old gas mileage secrets popping up. Most of these so called gas mileage secrets seem to concern driving techniques or fuel additives as ways to save on gas.
These are all well and good and most of them seem to make sense, but what if you could save on gas right at the start when you are filling up your tank? One of the oldest tips for saving on gas is to fill up your fuel tank in the morning. When gas is cooler you get more for your money thus giving you gas mileage improvements of a few cents per gallon. Why do you get more gas when its cooler? Read on to find out.

It seems that a gallon is not always a gallon when it comes to gasoline, as what’s inside that gallon is subject to change at different temperatures. The tiny molecules that make up a gallon of gas are tightly packed and condensed when they are cool, but when the gas heats up they expand and separate. This will mean that the warmer the gas the less molecules per gallon and the less fuel you get for that gallon.

The actual science of this is true and experts have claimed that warm gas has in the past cost people more at the pumps than they would have paid for cooler gas. While the oil industry experts say that this is no longer true due to the way that gas is stored in underground fibreglass tanks, how come oil companies outside of the United States are giving drivers a price break on gas in hotter weather?

That’s right gas stations in Canada get a price break from the oil companies in hot weather, these discounts are then passed onto the motorist by using pumps that monitor the temperature of the gas. They actually deliver more gas, a (“Bigger Gallon”) when the gas is hot. This practice is known as “temperature compensation.”

While the amount of compensation received by an individual driver may not be great, (around about 9 cents on a gallon) it does soon add up, and this small saving helps a little with the ever increasing cost of gas at the pumps. Take that 9 cents per gallon discount over a period of 12 months and you will realize what gas mileage improvements you could be making if this system was available in the United States.

But alas it seems that this system is not going to be available to us, even though groups like the Foundation for Taxpayers and Consumer Rights and web-sites like Turn Down Hot Fuel have been calling for compensation for American drivers. In fact gas company executives insist that this system would not work here because if retailers sold larger gallons then they would charge more for it.

So it seems that if you are one of the many drivers looking for gas mileage secrets or any little way at all to get gas mileage improvements from their vehicles, then you will have to look further than trying to get savings at the pumps through “temperature compensation.” Perhaps we should after all be filling up out gas tanks in the morning when the gas is cooler.

Real people are reaping the benefits of this alternative fuel and you can too! This technology has been in existence for many decades and has gained prominence in the last few years. Many, who formally doubted the validity of this fuel source, took the initiative to inform themselves and have been the beneficiary of this "free energy.

For those who are serious about learning to run your car on water, the idea behind the technology, which can be used for any car, truck, or SUV - diesel or gasoline powered - is that electricity from the vehicle's battery is used to electrolyze a small amount of water.

This process creates a gas compose of hydrogen and oxygen, which is injected into the intake system. This gas, know as Brown's gas, HHO, Klein's gas, and other names, displaces some of the fuel in the cylinders. The end result is a highly efficient fuel for turning the engine.

Lets take a look at the benefits for this type of conversion of your vehicle:

1) The power of this HHO gas is up to three times more potent than the gasoline or diesel you are currently using. You can expect a minimum of a 40% increase in the fuel efficiency, and some vehicles, with some tweaking experience as much as a 60% increase in efficiency.

2) Immediately experience an increase in horsepower; the engine will run smoother, and with less noise.

3) Your maintenance cost will be lower - no carbon build-up on the engine, and less wear and tear on the parts.

4) Because this is a clean fuel, pollutants coming out of the tailpipe are significantly decreased.

5) The IRS offers rebates for environmentally friendly vehicles, up to $2,000 for a car, or up to $50,000 for a truck If you are thinking that this will cost you a fortune, relax. Learning how to run your car on water, and completing the actual conversion, is a project that a mechanical novice can do, the parts can be purchase at Home Depot, and it should not cost more than $200.

Americans, and people all over the world are experiencing a relentless increase in the price of fuel; do not expect prices to come down, as a matter of fact, they will go a lot higher. Some experts are even predicting that we will eventually run out of oil. Now is the time to put yourself ahead of subsequent increases or an interruption in supply.

Do what thousands of people in many countries are doing; learn how to run your car on water. This can be one of the most important decisions that you make for your family and for your bank account.

Basic principles behind using water for gas

Are you joking? Can water be used for gas? Did you know that water is the cheapest resource of energy that can be used to run your car? Gasoline is getting expensive by each passing day and is getting out of reach of the common man. Therefore, in these times it is necesary to find some alternative which is easily available in the market as fuel. If you would like your car to run on water and save thousands each year then read on.
To start things with, we all recognize how priceless a source of energy water is. At the time when water is wrecked down with the assistance of an spark of electricity, it comes up with a compound of the HHO. This mix is tremendously flammable but safer than free of charge hydrogen. It has been experienced in hundreds of vehicles over past few years beneath extremely unsympathetic circumstances, and it is considered to be amongst the safest of all option fuel technologies accessible in the market.

We can say however, that the water driven cars are not completely fueled on water. They still require a definite quantity of gasoline all along with water. This technology may sooner or later pave the way for a hundred percent water driven cars. The Most important thing is that the technology is extremely secure and poses no security hazards. The release from this car consists for the most part of water, which is harmless. The hybrid cars clean un the carbon deposits in the motor formed due to unburned fuel. This is beneficial for the car and can help them last longer.

This new technology isn't all that fresh; it was created in the 90's by Sir Stanley Meyer. Despite the fact that it was brought into full manufacturing due to the premature death of Mr. Meyer a lot of other inventors and scientists have tried the wonderful system to allow the vehicles of today to run solely on water. Then of course, was a lot of opposition to the progress of this technology because of the blow it would have on the oil and gas industry. Nevertheless, nowadays with the expansion of the Internet and the viral environment of information it provides more and more people are having access to this system and have begun converting their current vehicle to run on water.

Like water, the search for alternative and renewable sources of energy is becoming prevalet as an option to decrease the pollution of the environment and as a choice for more economical fuel. We are aproaching an era where we must be careful of the world we live in because our past actions have begun to catch up with us and that reality requires the use of subsitute fuels. It's about time that the automotive industry start following suit.

The Future of "Water For Gas" Technology

With rising pollution and huge emission of green house gases, it is paramount that we search for alternative fuels. This need becomes even more vital in the wake of ever rising global oil prices.

Water for Gas or more specifically, HHO generators have proved to be a workable solution to these problems. This technology involves the formation of HHO or Brown gas, which is then fed into the car intake to produce more power, reduce emissions and hence propagate a cleaner burn. As with any new technology, there are many skeptics who believe that this is not a workable model on a large scale or for extended periods of time. However, recent adoption of HHO generators by several governments proves the contrary.

Run Your Car on Water

In a bid to cut down domestic air pollution, South Korea has become the first nation in the world to mandate HHO generators to be fitted in transport trucks. Only transport trucks are involved with this technology as of now, but future plans are well on their way to include even other vehicles.

In North America, a company by the name of Hydrorunner has independent third party verification of their product usability and quality assurance. Moreover, with increasing popularity of HHO generators, one manufacturer has actually approached the American government and is now listed on the official website of the U. S. Department of Energy. A yet another manufacturer has already forwarded its application to California Air Resources Board (CARB).

All these developments clearly prove the huge inherent potential in this technology. Although, still in its infancy, it has definitely proved its worth and we can safely presume its popular presence, atleast in the foreseeable future.

So, in case you are still wondering, whether water for gas is a scam or what, rest assured, this new technology can work wonders for your car’s mpg and your gas budget. Additionally, it can deliver the extreme satisfaction of taking an environment friendly drive.

Vehicle Graphics From Sign Writers!

One of the things that it is important to have, regardless of the size of your business is some form of name recognition. For most of us that work on the Internet, it is a matter of having our URL in front of as many eyes as possible. One of the best ways for you to do this is to have some vehicle graphics made up so that your website can be broadcast to the world, even when people are away from their computers. As a matter of fact, you would be surprised with how well this works, especially if you have never tried it before. If you are going to use vehicle graphics to advertise your website, here are some things that you should keep in mind.
First of all, you need to make sure that your URL is going to be easy to remember. If your domain name is some obscure name that is difficult to remember, people are hardly going to be able to go home and remember it long enough to type it into their computer. Very few people were going to write the URL down whenever they are in the car and even if they do, it will be unlikely that they will still be interested enough whenever they get home to find what they wrote it on. Make sure that you keep your URL short and sweet, even if you have to buy one in order to redirect it to your main website.

Next, you need to make sure that your website address is either descriptive of what you have to offer or you need to add a little bit of information to entice people to go there. For example, if your website address is your personal name, include a little bit about what you have to offer. Doing so will help people that are genuinely interested in what you have to say to know that they should visit your website. It will also get rid of a lot of the tire kickers that will do nothing more than burn up bandwidth without ever actually doing anything.

Vehicle graphics can either be very simple, perhaps a bumper sticker or they can be quite elaborate and include full-color graphics that cover your entire back window. Either one of these can really work well but it is simply true that the more eye-catching you make the vehicle graphic out to be, the more eyes it is going to catch. Don't limit yourself in this regard if you have the ability to make it a little bit flashier. Not only will people recognize it, they will remember it long enough to type it into their Internet browser.

Using vehicle graphics in order to promote your Internet business is an excellent way for you to increase your visitors. Although it is only a part of all of the marketing methods that you should be using, it is certainly one that should not be overlooked.

Hypermiling tips

The current gas crisis is pinching the pocketbooks of drivers in every imaginable way. People are rethinking a simple trip to the grocery store, and a drive across town to visit a friend or see a movie is now more of a luxury than a casual spur of the moment decision. It's causing independent long distance truckers to go out of business and airlines to ground large portions of their fleets and lay off employees.
And the alarming thing is...politicians don't seem to have any answers to this crisis in the short term, and they don't seem to be able to offer any assurance that it will end soon.

Once upon a time the idea of paying three dollars a gallon for a tank of gasoline seemed outrageous. Now, we can look back on that price with nostalgia. However, we're not here to deliver nothing but gloom and doom, or to tell you things that you already know.

Instead, we're here to give you some practical tips that anyone can put into use to make their vehicle more energy efficient. We're talking about an increasingly popular practice called...hypermiling.

Hypermiling involves a number of tweaks, improvements, and techniques to squeeze every last mile possible out of a gallon of gas. Some of this involves free or low cost things that you can do to or with your car, some of it involves more expensive alterations which cost money up front but which save a fortune in the long run, and some of it involves common sense driving techniques - many so easy to implement that it will truly surprise you.

All of these little tricks and techniques add up to serious savings at the gas pump.

Hypermiling is a term believed to have been coined by an Illinois man named Wayne Gerdes, who is referred to by many as the "father of hypermiling." Mentions of it first began appearing on the internet several years ago when gas prices really started to shoot through the stratosphere, although efforts to save money and improve gas mileage efficiency have been around since cars were invented.

So without further ado, let's talk about some hypermiling techniques that you can put into practice literally the next time that you pull out of your driveway.

Biofuels and What They Are

You have heard the term biofuel but aren’t sure what it means. Biofuel is any fuel that is derived from biomass-recently living organisms or their metabolic by-products, such as manure from cows. It is considered ‘green’ because it comes from a renewable energy source, unlike other natural resources such as petroleum, coal and nuclear fuels.
Agricultural products specifically grown for use as biofuels include corn and soybeans (primarily in the United States) as well as flaxseed and rapeseed (primarily in Europe).

Waste from industry, agriculture, forestry and households can also be used to produce bioenergy and include straw, lumber, manure, sewage, garbage and food leftovers.

The production of biofuels to replace oil and natural gas is in active development, focusing on the use of cheap organic matter (usually cellulose, agricultural and sewage waste) in the efficient production of liquid and gas biofuels that yield high net energy gain.

There are various current issues with biofuel production and use, which are presently being discussed in the popular media and scientific journals. These include: the "food vs fuel" debate, carbon emissions levels, sustainable biofuel production, deforestation and soil erosion, impact on water resources, human rights issues, poverty reduction potential, biofuel prices, energy balance and efficiency, and centralised versus decentralised production models.

What material can be used to make biofuels? Conventional ethanol is made from sugar cane, corn, and sweet sorghum. Soybean and rapeseed oil are often used to make biodiesel, but coconut, palm, canola and jatropha nut oil are also being used throughout the world.

Trees, grass, agricultural residue, and municipal solid waste can also be converted into biofuels. Cellulose makes up the majority of a plant’s structure and can be broken down into sugars, which can then be fermented and made into ethanol. Recent research is making this process less expensive and more energy efficient.

As the world’s top producer, Brazil uses sugar cane to make ethanol. Many other developing countries, such as those of southern Africa, produce large amounts of sugar and also have potential to become ethanol producers. The Midwestern United States relies on corn to produce nearly one-quarter of the globe’s ethanol, and China is quickly emerging as the third largest ethanol supplier.

Other countries with limited fossil fuel resources are examining the prospect of producing domestic fuel supplies. Thailand has an aggressive policy to make use of tapioca and sugar cane for ethanol production. In response to the recent passage of the EU Biofuels Directive, member countries are ramping up biodiesel production. The Philippines recently mandated incorporation of coconut oil biodiesel into diesel fuel, the first time coconut oil has been used as a motor fuel.

Cars, trucks, and farm machinery can all run on low-volume biofuel blends without any alteration. Current car warranties cover operation with ethanol-blended gas of up to ten percent. Flexible Fuel Vehicles (FFVs) operate on any combination of ethanol and gasoline. FFVs are being sold in the U.S., Brazil, and China. As ethanol has a higher octane, it is used as a gasoline additive to improve vehicle performance. In fact, many international racing teams use ethanol because of its high performance qualities. Biodiesel blends of 20% show similar operation in conventional diesel engines as regular diesel fuel.

Are biofuels the answer for today’s energy crisis? It may be too soon to tell but it certainly has been an alternative source in the meantime.

Which Bio-fuel is Better? Algae vs. Ethanol

With oil prices skyrocketing, food costs peaking, and the economy in a recession, consumers are looking for a way to relieve the strain on their thinning pocketbooks. One of the ways to ease this stress is to look towards a cheaper, more efficient form of fuel. Here's where the exciting new bio-fuels industry comes into play. Currently, the most widely known alternative fuel source comes corn in the form of ethanol. But, is this fuel the best route to take? What about the increasing interest in algae as the base for an alternative fuel source? This article compares and contrasts the more conventional bio-fuel ethanol with bio-fuel produced from algae.
At first glance, ethanol seems like a great way to wean ourselves off of expensive foreign oil dependence. Lobbyists market ethanol as a clean, green, renewable, domestically produced fuel. But, are there hidden dangers lurking in these sprawling corn fields? According to Nobel Laureate Paul Cortzen's recent findings, bio-ethanol and bio-diesel (made from rapeseed) release more nitrous oxide (N2O) into the atmosphere than our current fossil fuels, whereas the algae based bio-fuel actually consumes available atmospheric CO2 and N2O when processed.

Also, ethanol, the seemingly miraculous alternative fuel, is predicted to reach a stockpile of 30 billion gallons by 2016, depleting half the U.S. supply of corn. This consumption has many consequences: With the supplies of corn, wheat, and other grains being consumed at such a high rate, there will be significantly less food for our domestic livestock; consequently, meat production will decrease, meat prices will increase at the supermarket, and less meat and grain will be exported to other countries.

As for the eco-footprint of ethanol, there is concern over its supposed environmentally friendly production methods. With increased corn and grain production more land is needed, as well as more fertilizer. This increase of fertilization could result in potentially harmful carcinogenic runoff into our water supply. Algae, on the other hand, has a small eco-footprint and is a low-cost, high-yield alternative.

First, producing algae as the foundation for bio-fuel is remarkably simple--anyone can do it if they put in the time and research.

All you need to do is build a temperature controlled "photo bioreactor" (any glass or plastic tank will work), use the right strain of algae, and allow photosynthesis to do the rest. Granted, not everyone will want to put in the time and effort, but the point is that if they wanted to make their own fuel, they could. For a company with the time and startup cost to go into business as a producer of algae based bio-fuel, it is estimated that one acre can produce up to 5,000 gallons of fuel a year!

This ease and profitability of production, almost nonexistent eco-footprint, and independence from corporate lobbyists makes algae a much more promising and exciting new alternative fuel source than ethanol.

Are RV Loans Your Best Option?

RV loans allow people who are unable to pay the purchase price for a recreational vehicle the ability to actually possess one for a period of time, all the while, adhering to a payment schedule agreed upon with the lender. Upon the final instalment being paid over by the borrower to the lender, ownership of the RV then passes to the borrower meaning that they own it in full. This is a mutually beneficial arrangement, the borrower is able to enjoy the benefits of the use and possession of the RV whilst the lender is able to feel confident in the fact that, in the event of default of the RV loans by the borrower, the RV can then be repossessed by the lender (remember ownership remains with the lender until the final instalment has been paid.) Given the significant price tag attached to RVs, RV loans timeframes tend to be rather prolonged, and so shopping around to secure the best possible interest rate is a crucial step as this can save major amounts in the long run.
RV loans tend to work on a monthly basis, and so whilst the purchaser may want to pay the RV loans off as soon as is reasonable, a degree of caution must be exercised during this, because there is a need to balance the long term repayment with the short term repayment as well. Before taking out any RV loans, the borrower should calculate the net income they have per month, and take an average to ensure further precision and accuracy. Then they should earmark a portion of that money as a buffer reserve, so that in the event of an emergency they will have funds to rely upon as a makeshift safety net. Then, and only then should they consider and assess how much they can afford to pay each month in interest. This may seem like unnecessary precautions but given the rather harsh penalties that can be imposed for the non payment of a single month's interest repayment, such measures are essential.

The reason for calculating and factoring in a buffer fund as well is to cover any unforeseen emergencies that may arise, given the timeframe that most RV loans are spread over, the laws of probability and statistics will mean that something like this will happen eventually. Don't get caught out, and make sure you cover yourself by salting away a percentage each month. There are plenty of online resources which will help you to better asses the effects (both short term and long term) of various loan schedules. The more money you can afford as an initial capital sum the better because this will allow you to offset the overall amount you need to borrow and thus be liable for interest upon.

RV loans are just like any other loans; they are contingent on your credit rating, so you may want to invest some time and money into developing your credit rating before taking out a loan. Even getting a reduction in the interest rate by a few percentage points can make a major difference in the long run. 2% of 100,000 is 2000; say the loan is over 10 years. That's 20,000 saved overall. A little time and patience, along with solid research can go a long way.

Run Your Car On Water As Well As Gas - Double Your Mileage

Are you ready to run your car on water and laugh at the rising gas cost, while at the same time, you are helping to reduce emissions and preventing global warning?
Anyone can convert their car or truck to burn water as well as gasoline and double their mileage!

With the ever-increasing cost for gas, everyone is thinking about purchasing a flex fuel car to double their mileage.

Why invest thousands of dollars when you can double your own cars mileage by converting to burn water as well as gas. Cars that run on water must also operate partly on gas.

You can convert your car with a do-it-yourself, affordable kit. This process will make it so your car can convert water into hydrogen gas.

The way it works is that by adding a few simple parts that can be found at any hardware store you can set up your car's battery to convert water molecules into hydrogen gas. The gas is then sent into your engine to increase the burn needed to reduce your mileage.

This process is been available for years and until now, no one was really that interested in reducing their gas mileage.

The system will:

Increase the performance of a car while preventing smog. Reduce the need for gas by running a car on 50% of hydrogen gas.

Are you waiting for the government or car dealers to offer cars that run on water?

It is not going to happen anytime soon. In most areas of the country regular gas is over $4.00 a gallon with no end in sight.

Less face it, converting your car to burn water as well as gas is one of the only ways to increase the mileage of your current car without spending thousands of dollars for a flex fuel car. Even if you purchased a flex fuel car, there are only a few gas stations in the country that offers a corn based fuel product.

According to recent road tests done in a number of countries like the USA and Canada, this new technology will produce the following results for any vehicle, gasoline or diesel:

Double the gas mileage on any V8 car, van or heavy truck. Some studies shown a boost in mileage of up to 82%.

Fewer Emissions. When used the emissions that are released from the car turns back into water. No chemicals are released into the environment.

Increase engine performance.

This process helps to remove carbon deposits in the engine.

It also prevents future carbon build up.

Engine runs at a lower temperature - this will increase the life of the engine.

How to Check a Used Car before You Buy it

A used car always has faults that reduce the comfort of using the car or that must be repaired before using it comfortably and safely. This is all right, as long the prize you pay is not too high when you also add the prize, time and efforts for subsequent repair and adjustments. Here are some tips for checking a used car before any purchase.

BASIC PRINCIPLES OF ASSESSING A CAR BEFORE YOU BUY

The basic principles of assessing a used car before you buy it are:

- Look at everything.
- Test everything.
- Check the car's history.
- Write down what you find.

Before you begin checking the car, make sure you have ready something to note down your findings upon.

If you only remember these four depicted principles, you will probably make a good assessment even without any more detailed plan. However, in the following a plan for the assessment is presented. It is not always possible to do it exactly as described, but try to follow the procedures as well as you can.

LOOK IT ALL OVER

Before starting the car, you should watch the whole car externally and internally in a systematic manner:
- Go around the car and watch every point. Look for broken windows, unclear windows, unclear or broken mirrors, bumps, rust or damaged painting.
- Then look especially well at the channels on the sides. Look for any rust and injuries.
- Try to open and close all doors. Look around the doors, both at the doors themselves and the frames around the doors. Try the locks in every door.
- Look at the wheels and the wheel suspensions.
- Look under the car. Look especially for rust, broken parts or unsymmetrical parts.
- Look into the luggage room. Look under carpets and covers. Look especially for cracks, rust or unsymmetrical parts. Such symptoms can indicate that the car has been subjected to an injury.
- Look into the motor room. Check for loose parts. Does everything seems solid and in place? Is there much rust? Are there signs of oil leakage? Is it very dirty, and what kind of dirt is present? Some dirt is normal, but extreme and unusual dirt should give you something to think about. Do you see any cracks or any asymmetry? Are there any signs of repair work done? Such symptoms indicate that the car has been through an accident.
- Try the suspension by bouncing each of the corners of the car. They should bounce only one or two times in every corner, and without any cracking noise.
- Look to see if the car has spare wheels, standard tools for repair and wheel shift, and both summer and winter wheels present.
- Then turn the key so that the electric systems are activated.
- Look at everything in the cabin. Look under the carpets. Sit down in all seats. Try all regulatory possibilities of the seats.
- Try all electric windows, electric mirrors and other commodities that are electrically operated.
- Try out all lights, including the signal lights and the serene. If some of them do not work, set in a new bulb, to see if this is the only problem.
- Try the radio, car computer, music equipment and any GPS navigation unit.

START THE MOTOR AND TEST

After having seen the car all over, it is time to start the motor. The motor should ideally be started when it is cold. A motor started easily when it is warm, does not necessarily start easily when cold.
- Start the motor. Does the motor start easily or not? Listen for sound of uneven motor work, sounds of vibrations or sounds of friction. Do you feel any vibrations outside the normal?
- When starting the motor, kick the brake pedal. It should easily go down and kick in the brakes when the motor is started. If not, the brake servo can be broken.
- Listen for unusual or high sounds from the exhaust system indicating breakage.
- Look at the dashboard panel. Do all indicators work? Does any indicator signal any problem?
- Try the steering by turning the steering wheels. How much do you have to rotate it before the wheels turn? It should not be more than around 2 cm or 0.8 inch.
- Try the window washers and the window wipers, and any light wiper and washers.
- Kick in the clutch, and try all the gears if it is manually geared.
- Try out the cabin heater or air conditioning.

TEST DRIVE

Then there is the time for a test drive. When you are test-driving the car, you should try out the following:
- Set the gearbox in reverse, and back out of the parking place. Does the gas and the clutch work smoothly when backing? Does the car get smoothly into motion?
- Set the car in motion forewords. Does the gas and the clutch work smoothly in foreword motion? Does the car get smoothly into foreword motion?
- Increase the speed and gear up to second gear if the car is manually geared. If it has automatic gearshift, just speed up until the second gear sets in. Are there any problems to go up one gear? If the car has an automatic gearbox, does the second gear kick in when expected?
- Try the breaks from a low speed. Is there any problem with the brakes, like poor action, vibrations or unmoral noises? Does the car pull to one side when you use the brakes?
- Park the car and note down all your findings so far. Then start again.
- Try a wider range of speeds, and the rest of the gears. If the car has an automatic gearbox, do the other gears kick in when expected? Does the motor feel quick, or is it lazy?
- Listen to the car mechanics. Is there any rattling or whining sounds from anywhere? Be especially aware of singling sounds from the gearbox or unexpected motor sounds.
- Watch out for any smell of gasoline, diesel, oil or anything burnt during drive?
- Does the car go in a straight line and direction at higher speeds, or does it wiggle or pull to one side. Is it still easy to steer it both to right and left? Is the steering accurate?
- Try the breaks from a higher speed and notice any irregularities. - Look at the figures for motor temperature. Is it in the normal range?
- Finish by testing the reverse once again when parking.
- When finished the test drive, look into the motor room. Do you see any oil leaks, or water leaks, or is there any unexpected high temperature? Is there any smell of burnt substance? Is there any smell of gasoline or diesel?
- Note down all your findings.

CHECK THE PAPERS AND CAR HISTORY

Then, before buying the car, check all the papers.
- Look at the service book. Has the car had all its services?
- Look at all repair bills. All of these should ideally follow the car.
- Look at the mileage indicator to see how long the car has been driven.
- Take out a history report of the car from authorities, insurance companies or other instances offering such reports. An example of such a report is a Carfax report that can be taken out online.
- In some countries or areas dept issues or fines that an owner has generated follow the car to the new owner. Such issues are especially important to check out. How you can do so, will vary from place to place.
- Ask the seller about history issues, for example accidents the car has gone through. If you have found some signs indicating some issue, ask directly about them. Many sellers will be honest and tell any truth. In other cases you can guess from the way that the seller answers if he is lying or not.

DECIDING

At the end, you must decide several things based on the findings.
- First of all, is this really the car type you need? If not, decline the offer, even though everything looks fine.
If you have decided that this is the car type for you, then think further.
- Is the car in such a technical condition that it is possible to bring it to the standard you want? If not, decline the offer.
- Then think about how much time and effort the repair of the car will cost you. Even though you let a workshop repair the car, you must spend time by bringing the car to and from the workshop, by explaining what to repair, by waiting, by checking after repair, and so on.
- What do you think the repair of the car will cost?
- Now you can decide if the car is worth buying after all, and the maximal prize worth paying.
- As the last point, discuss the prize with the seller, even if it is within the right prize range.
Then at last, after all checking, and all thinking, and discussing the prize, you can decide to buy or not.

Your Complete Guide To Truck Bed Covers Benefits

Your Complete Guide To Truck Bed Covers Benefits
Placing a truck bed cover on your pick-up is among the more beneficial upgrades you'll be able to add to your vehicle. This informational guide uncovers the benefitial options that truck bed covers render.

If you have a pickup truck, adding a truck bed cover to the truck's bed is an out-and-out essential. Not only are truck bed covers practical in most situations, they additionally render scores of indispensable benefits, including:

* Coordinated storage for whatsoever you might be carting in your truck bed, along with the bonus of maintaining a lid on unaffixed freight

* Shelter from potentially destructive atmospheric conditions, such as rain, snow and intense sunshine

* Absolute coverage of your shipment that maintains your cargo concealed from possible theft

* A prompt betterment of gas mileage using tight, aerodynamic materials enshrouding your otherwise drag-prone, wide-open truck bed

* Streamlined appearance that ranges from a smooth leather-grained pattern to your very own custom color matched expressive style

Truck Bed Cover Storage Fundamentals

You cart everything from power tools to the infrequent load of laundry in the bed of your pick-up. A truck bed cover assists by keeping a lid on everything, protecting your consignment from the howling air currents created by highway driving, not to mention all forms of buffeting rainy weather conditions. It's a painless means to make certain nothing vanishes from your truck bed while driving or parked.

A Guide to Protecting Your Gear From the Weather Using A Truck Bed Cover

Even the simplest truck bed cover placed over your gear should facilitate the prevention of damage from the elements. Truck bed covers, however, take the concept of protection a few steps further utilizing a few imaginative design characteristics. For example, most truck bed covers utilize strategically-placed weather seals to channel water away from your cargo. Also, a number of models use raised and arched support bows to promote moisture/water runoff. Although no truck bed cover is fully water-tight, many should do a better than average job of keeping your gear high and dry even during the nastiest weather.

Truck Bed Cover Security: A Quick Reference

Whenever your payload is hidden from view, it's also out of any would-be thief's mind. Truck bed covers turn the contents of your truck bed into a mystery, providing you assurance that your material possessions will be exactly where you left them upon your return.

Other than basic covering, truck bed covers also provide varying levels of security, contingent upon the model you own. The majority of hinged (lift-up) truck bed covers can be fully-secured with a locking tailgate. Don't have a locking tailgate? There are any number of aftermarket tailgate locks available that readily install using everyday hand tools. Hard top and retractable truck bed covers usually come with secure key locking arrangements that latch closed at or near the tailgate.

Utilizing any assortment of security measures, an effective truck bed cover makes your truck bed much more versatile than at any time beforehand. That same truck bed is immediately perfect for use as a hauler or hiding spot.

Gas Mileage and Truck Bed Covers: The Basics

Trucks are becoming taller, engines are bigger, truck beds are getting broader and today's highway traffic is thicker than ever before. On top of all that, the big oil companies boast that they're reaping historically high profits. A truck bed cover can help you even the score the only way possible - by extending your next visit to the gas station.

An Open Truck Bed Can Be A Huge Drain On Your Gas Mileage

When air flows across the aerodynamic front end of your truck, it typically swirls into your bed and pounds up against your tailgate -- often stealing several miles off your latest tankful of gas.

Covering your truck bed with a taut truck bed cover -- even if it's a soft top model -- stops or minimizes the tailgate drag. Air hits the flat surface of a hard or soft truck bed cover and continues past your vehicle with nothing upon which to catch. And, best of all, it spares mileage without time-consuming tailgate removal or the possibility of open-gate driving damage.

How much savings, you ask? A five per cent improvement in fuel economy is the industry-wide accepted amount, though up to ten per cent is doable. Your truck could realize bigger or smaller effects. It depends. All the same, the concept is elementary: a truck bed cover will save gas and, eventually, pay for itself.

Great Truck Bed Cover Looks: A Quick Guide

A smooth truck bed cover bestows custom truck style upon otherwise unexciting, exposed truck beds. Most truck bed covers we've seen sport a custom fit to the attributes of your specific year, make and model. The outcome is an exceptional fit and precise look that was made for your truck.

Truck bed covers really can bestow varying levels of exceptionally fashionable looks to your pickup truck. Soft truck bed covers stretch to a tight fit, not only for improved mileage but for style, also. With any assortment of lid materials, retractable truck bed covers have become the patriarchs of the low-profile smooth ingredient. Hard top truck bed covers consitute the crown jewel of custom looks: molded-over edges, a seamless fit and optional paint matching.

A Truck Bed Covers Historical Guide

Truck bed covers (also known as tonneau covers, bed lids or truck lids) have developed over the years from any number of versions intended for an assortment of various uses. And, because any number of rudimentary bed cover designs have come about over the years, no one individual or single manufacturer can claim to be the truck bed cover's originator.

Soft truck bed covers achieved prominence whilst taking on a vital function on leading speedways. Top-class sport truck racer drivers employed these flexible bed covers as a lightweight means to enhance their aerodynamics, thus reducing drag. Such racetrack truck bed covers sat flush with the top of the truck bed and made use of the identical heavy-duty materials being used in today's soft covers.

Hard top truck bed covers arose in popularity as a full-size camper shell alternative. Such highly-customized truck bed lids, most commonly constructed from fiberglass, have evolved into today's truck bed covers using a variety of construction materials and locking mechanisms.

Consider Doing a Drivers License Check

It's a privilege; not a right! Yeah, yeah, we've all heard the diatribe regarding the driver's license. First we got it from our parents, then it came from our teacher in driver's ed, and finally the lady at the DMV. For a while there I thought it would never end. But, now that I'm older and have been driving on my own for 15 years, I can certainly see what all the fuss was about.
When it comes down to it, driving is dangerous. There are no two sides to the coin. You basically get into a metal box with wheels and take off into a mess of others just like you. Now that you're all flying down the highway at 60 miles per hour, you'd better be certain you don't wreck. That could mean the end of your life. It really is that simple. We just don't dwell on the fact. If we did, we'd all be terrified to get into a vehicle. So, although the driver's license is a privilege, we all tend to take it for granted at times. We get tickets, we run traffic lights, and we coast through stop signs. Everyone is guilty of some traffic violation. Now, do you know for sure what's on your record? If not, then you may consider doing a drivers license check on the web.

I despise the DMV or BMV, which ever it's called in your area. The employees are so disgruntled there. I guess I can see why, but dang. Find a new job, people. Anyway, at least I can handle some of these issues online now days. It takes no time at all to do a drivers license check. Now I'm not talking about the ones where the cop is stopping everyone on the road, all in a single file line, in order to check everyone's driver's license. I've been through plenty of these in my day. They always take forever. It's hilarious when someone tries to turn around and flee the scene. Then a patrol car goes darting after them, lights blaring, sirens flashing. Anyway, I was referring to the simple drivers license check you can do from home. This will let you know what's on your record, regarding points, violations and such.

When was the last time you received a traffic violation? I was lucky enough to avoid the last two times I was pulled over. Now when I do a drivers license check, I am clear as a bell. That's just the way I like it. After all none of us want points on our license.

Necessity of A Good Truck Bed Cover

Do you own a pickup truck? If so, you probably cart around everything from groceries to the weekly load of household trash utilizing your pickup's truck bed. But what about those times you have something of value in your truck bed? Your tools or maybe the lawnmower? What protects that valuable cargo from the very real danger of theft plus the threat posed by inclement weather? A truck bed cover assists by keeping all of it, well, covered! It's possibly the best way to make certain nothing of value vanishes from your truck's bed while driving or parked. That's just good old peace of mind. And can't we all use a little more peace of mind?
Just a plain old pickup truck bed cover protecting your cargo will assist in the prevention of damage from the elements. When one considers the number of today's innovative features, truck bed covers really have cornered the market regarding new and ingenious ways to protect your truck bed. For example, the majority of truck bed cover manufacturers employ well-positioned weather seals to drive water away from a truck bed's cargo. And, a number of truck bed covers utilize aluminum support bows to promote rain water run-off. Thus your cover does not get unneccessarily weighted down. While no truck bed cover can promise 100% water-tightness, a high-caliber truck bed cover should do a good job maintaining a dry truck bed even during the nastiest weather conditions.

Below are the primary concerns to be looking for when considering if it's worth investing hundreds of dollars on a truck bed cover for your pickup truck?

1. Is there an immediate improvement in gas mileage? There should be. 2. Streamlined appearance ranging from pseudo leather to customized color matching. 3. Total truck bed coverage to keep your valuables from the view of potential thieves. 4. Protection from inclement weather and the potential damage caused by the likes of rainfall, snow and intense sun 5. Well-configured storage for anything you might be hauling in your truck bed on a given day.

Whenever your truck's payload can't be seen, chances are few that it will be stolen. Out of sight really is out of mind. Truck bed covers provide secrecy to your truck bed's contents. This fact alone should make you confident that your property will still be there upon your return.

Water Power Cars - A Rant From A Motorist

Water Power Cars - A Rant From A Motorist
Who would have thought. Even the Americans are paying hand-over-fist for fuel. Has the world gone mad? I am a UK resident. I am used to paying great chunks of money for car fuel, and have done for years. So when prices hiked here, well, enough is enough. So what are we to do? Shut up and pay the rate?

Trouble is, we ARE Dependant on fuel. Not many will have the choice to simply stop using their cars. So you can imagine my delight when I heard that there are alternatives out there, some of which are available right now which claim to reduce our cars fuel consumption by as much as half. One of these methods actually uses water for fuel. Did I just say water? Yep! Water power cars is a funny concept, but it is one I think you'll really like the sound of.

The idea behind using water for fuel, which as ideas go sounds pretty crazy, but any rate - the deal is that we can replace our total dependence on fuel/gas by using a clever device which will enable your car, truck or van to burn WATER as a supplement to fuel. And thus save you money.

WATER?! Can you believe that the clear stuff we flush, pour, drink and clean with, that pure nature abundant stuff that falls from the sky (and a little too often here in the UK...) can actually fuel your car?!

Thanks to advances in technology, people with far more time than me have invented a method which allows ordinary Joe, you and me, to MODIFY our CURRENT car to run on the clear stuff. And it ain't even expensive, and nor is it overly complicated from what I've been told. So yes, you may well see water power cars on the roads soon, if not already. Sound good? Well it does to anyone without shares in the gas companies. It could save you a ton of money. Sure, you still have to use gas, but by combining it with water, you can almost cut your costs in half.

As I see it, the time has come for us folks to get wise and do something about this ridiculous fuel crisis. You don't want to wait for the government to resolve it, they darn well profit all to well from our dependency on fuel/gas. So why not turn our heavy lumps into a water power cars instead, and give our wallets a break.

Personally, my money's on using water power cars. It's time to supplement that expensive stuff with the cheap-almost-free stuff. Imagine if we all did this? We'll see, but I think already thousands are doing this. I know what I will be doing. What about you?

The Benefits of a Gas Card

These days, gasoline prices are continually increasing. People have to start looking for methods to save on gasor attain something additional each time they fill up tanks of their vehicles. This is essential, since there is always a requirement of gasoline when people travel. Gasoline credit cards are the answer for this.
Gasoline Credit Cards:

Gas credit cards are extremely convenient, since people just have to swipe the card at the pump and fill up the vehicle tank. Possession of these cards are also an excellent way to maintain better records on how much a person frequently spends on gas. This is mostly beneficial for businesses, where there is a requirement to preserve data concerning such expenses for their income taxes.

Gas cards are not only favorable, but are also helpful in emergencies, when a person travels away from home. Thus, if an individual does not have enough cash it is still possible to fill up the vehicle's tank with the help of these cards.

In addition, gasoline credit cards offer extra rewards that considerably reduce the cringe of buying gas because you know that you are acquiring something more than just purchasing gas. Cash back offers on gasoline credit cards help you to get back a proportion of what you put into your vehicle's tank.

These days, since gas prices are incessantly increasing several credit card issuers are providing gas-specific credit cards. If you possess a decent credit, then it will be simpler for you to apply and attain approval for gasoline credit cards.

However, there are numerous cards given to people with below average and average credit scores irrespective of the fact, that lower credit scores require people to pay a yearly fee.

Sometimes, gas cards allow only gas purchases, while at other times these cards enable a person to shop elsewhere, thus behaving as usual credit cards. People may attain better rewards or greater percentages of cash back on gasoline purchases or car maintenance.

Nevertheless, cards with gas rewards are more suitable, if an individual wants to have only a single credit card and not different cards each intended towards particular types of purchases.

Recently, distinctive gas reward programs are providing five to six percent of a person's gas purchase. If you are planning to buy a new car in the coming time, you may want to go through gasoline credit cards, as they also provide purchase reward, or car rent programs.

Additional Points:

If you want your credit card to benefit you rather than causing additional financial losses, then you have to be very cautious, while choosing a gas card. Careful budgeting is the way to success, when an individual plans to pay the monthly expenditures on a credit card.

Make it a habit to pay the full balance every month, as it is the only way to ensure that a person will definitely enjoy the advantages of a reward program rather than paying additional money for interest, finance charges, and late fees.

Driving slower can reduce your gas mileage

With gas prices reaching record highs and no end in sight, motorists everywhere are racing for ways to reduce their expenditures for gasoline. But it turns out all that racing could be causing them to spend more than ever on gas.
Studies show that driving slow makes the most efficient use of the fuel burned in any vehicle.

A study done in 2005 by the auto enthusiast website Edmunds.com showed that speeding reduced fuel efficiency by 5 to 20%. Most cars get the best mileage going between 45 and 55 miles per hour. As speed increases, fuel efficiency decreases. Some reports say that fuel economy drops by 1% for every mile per hour over 60 mph. That means, for instance, increasing from 55 mph to 65 mph is wasting fuel. Amping up to 75 mph is wasting a LOT of fuel.

Taking your lead foot off the gas pedal will save you money at the gas pump, but exactly how much depends on a lot of factors including the daily cost of gasoline, the fuel efficiency of your vehicle and how many miles you drive a year.

Our estimate is rough, but working from the Department of Transportation's most recent figures on the subject, we could calculate that if gas is four dollars a gallon, a car getting 20 miles per gallon and driving 400 miles per week would save $18.74 a week--a mighty $974.48 a year-- by slowing down from 75 to 55 miles per hour.

The effect is well-enough known that in 1974, when the Arab oil embargo created gas shortages in the United States, then-president Richard Nixon ordered the national speed limit to be lowered to 55 miles per hour.

By the 1980's, gas was again cheap and plentiful and motorists were impatient. The speed limit was raised to 65 miles per hour in some areas, particularly wide-open states like Montana a where rural drivers often had to cover long distances to get between towns. Then, in 1995, the 55 mph national speed limit was done away with entirely.

Today, you can check any freeway in America and find the average driver cruising along at 70 mph or better. But this time, we may not need a law to get drivers to let the pedal up off the metal. Movements like hypermiling and studies being done in pilot programs like one in Denver, Colorado, are showing drivers real-time evidence that driving slower pays off at the pumps.

With industry analysts saying that the days of cheap fossil fuel for gas-guzzling American cars are gone forever, cash-conscious U.S. drivers may soon be embracing the 55 mile per hour speed limit on their own volition.

Get a HHO Gas to Water Car Conversion - Increase Your Gas Mileage and Burn Clean Gas

HHO Car Conversions are becoming the craze in doubling your gas mileage. With the high price of gas and oil prices setting new records every day it is important to get a system that you can install yourself that will help you get great gas mileage. A lot of people are creating there own water gas hybrids and with the $4.00 + at the gas pump it is good that we are starting to see some alternatives.
HHO kits can vary in price and functionality so it is important that you get one from a reputable dealer. Basically how it works is that the kits takes water in a fuel cell and turns it into burning gas for your car. The fuel cell will hook to your battery so that the water can be converted and the end result is that the gas made from the water will mix with your fuel to give you better gas mileage. Another advantage is that your car will be cleaner because you will have water vapors that are much more environmentally friendly than strait gas vapors.

Double Gas Mileage

The system is similar to hydrogen but is not exactly the same because you are burning small amounts of water and it is not pure hydrogen.

The HHO Gas Conversion System is a great way to increase gas mileage and improve your cars performance and horsepower. It may be time to take control over your gas efficiency and put money back in your pocket rather than giving it all to the big gas companies.

Choosing the Right Truck Bed Tonneau Cover

Tonneau covers hide what's in your truck bed, secure your gear, and can even help improve your MPG. Some have better form, others have better function. Reading this will help you make the best choice in the search for a truck bed tonneau cover.
Body: Tonneau covers are extremely handy for any truck owner who occasionally hauls stuff that vertically extends out of the truck bed. A tonneau cover can hide your stuff that is below the top of the truck bed, giving you more confidence to maximize the utility of your truck. Tonneau covers also help improve the aerodynamics of your truck, which means improved fuel efficiency, higher MPG's and lower total-fuel costs. There are many different kinds of tonneau covers and choosing the right one can be difficult to determine, but with a little guidance you will be able to quickly make a decision. The main types of truck bed tonneau covers are hard, roll up, and retractable tonneau covers. Each has its own strengths and weaknesses.

Roll ups, sometimes also referred to as roll top tonneau covers, offer the most convenience as they are light-weight, easy to adjust and also quite easy to remove. But because they roll up, these tonneau covers offer the least amount of security because they are made of a Kevlar-like material. The material is extremely difficult to tear which implies durability, but a knife can still easily cut through it.

Hard tonneau covers come in a two flavors: folding and hinged. They are both constructed of aluminum and usually wrapped in that same Kevlar-like material, which makes them very sturdy, durable, and secure. But with metal comes weight, so these covers are heavier than the roll top tonneau covers. This isn't really a problem until you need to remove it, which can be an awkward process for some people. How often you need to remove the tonneau cover depends on how often you really use the truck bed for hauling. A folding tonneau cover folds back in sections, so you can easily get access to 2/3's or more of your truck bed. Moving that five foot tall dresser is a snap with a folding truck bed cover. A hinged tonneau cover, on the other hand, opens up like the hood of your car which severely limits the height of anything you load into the truck. You would have to remove it entirely to haul that same dresser.

Retractable tonneau covers are the Cadillac's of truck bed covers. They are also made of aluminum and are sometimes covered in the Kevlar-like material for a nice fit and finish. They retract by rolling up inside a housing that rests inside the truck bed by the back window. Some retract by you pushing them into the housing and others can be remote controlled. The nice thing about retractable tonneau covers is that you get maximum access to the truck bed: three-quarters or more can be available for you to use at the push of a button. They are very secure and often lighter-weight than the hinged or folding types. This makes them one of the most versatile tonneau covers available, the perfect blend of function and form.

Convert Your Car To Run On Water, As Well As Gas

So the big question is can I turn water into a fuel that will power a car? The answer is yes, and the technology has actually been around for over 90 years. Today people around the world are rediscovering this and they are using fuel conversion kits to convert their cars to run on water, in addition to gas.
The history of this technology goes back over 90 years, it was than called oxyhydrogen; which is a mixture of hydrogen and oxygen gases, when ignited the gas mixture converts to water vapor and releases energy. This gaseous mixture is widely used for torches for the processing of refractory materials.

The purpose of the kit is not to convert the car to run completely on water, but to enable the car to run on both water and gas. The way this works is by converting water into a gas that acts as a supplement to aid in the combustion of gasoline, and this reduces fuel consumption.

Obviously the main benefit to this technology is that it improves the mpg that your car gets, and in many cases the gains have been by as much as 60%, but this is not the only benefit. Another major benefit is that there is much less wear and tear on your vehicle. Some other benefits are that you will be reducing your carbon foot print, reducing your dependence on oil, and improving your cars performance.

With the national average of gasoline recently hitting $4.00 per gallon, now is the time to convert your car to run on water, as well as gas. You can like thousands of others around the world buy the plans with parts included for around $100 to $150, so do not fall victim to the ready built kits that are selling for over $1000 dollars. You will save hundreds of dollars by assembling your own water car conversion kit from instructions that you can find online. The entire process of converting your car will only take one weekend, and you will save hundreds if not thousands on gasoline.

This offers a cost effective immediate solution to our "energy crisis", and pollution right now!

With this technology you can:

* Possible double your mileage * Clean up your emissions * Increase your engines power * Reduce your carbon foot print

I have to admit; when I first heard of this I had a hard time believing it. But after I researched it, tested it my self and after seeing the results I now tell every one I can about it. This is something that I use, and I have helped my family and friends install on their vehicles. It is something that is growing in popularity and with the price of gas it is no wonder why. Do your self a favor and at least take a few minutes to research this, and you will not regret it.

Build Your Own Hydrogen Generator to Run Your Car on Water Power

Did you know it's possible to run your car on water with a simple hydrogen generator which can dramatically increase gas mileage of any vehicle on the road?
With the high prices of gas these days, people are becoming more and more desperate in the search for ways to increase the efficiency of their cars, SUVs, motorcycles and trucks. Gas is not getting cheaper and experts forecast that the current upward trend is going to continue for a long time to come yet and may reach as high as six dollars a gallon by the time the end of the year comes around.

However, recent technology has emerged that can pave the way for relief of that "pain at the pump" that so many Americans are feeling. This technology involves using water to power your car, by means of a simple hydrogen generator.

Many people are skeptical at the idea of water's ability to power a car, which is completely understandable. But the important fact to note is that the car is not running completely on water. Instead, the water (H2O) is broken down into it's component parts i.e. hydrogen and oxygen which is then used to supplement the existing gasoline fuel. It's these separate components which hold the key.

Hydrogen is an extremely explosive gas and makes a superb fuel when burned in oxygen. In fact, NASA uses a liquid-hydrogen and oxygen combustion method to launch the space shuttle. The by product of burning hydrogen and oxygen is a release of huge amounts of energy, plus water vapour. When you see a space shuttle launch, the huge plumes of "smoke" you see aren't really smoke at all - it's clouds of water vapour (i.e steam) that results from the hydrogen-oxygen combustion.

By using this fuel mixture and combining it with regular gasoline, it's possible to increase the efficiency of any road vehicle. A simple hydrogen generator is relatively easy to put together (once you know which parts to use) and can cost less than $150. Many users of such devices are reporting mileage increases of 74.1% and higher, so the initial cost of the device is quickly made up in fuel savings.

An additional benefit of using this simple device is that it will allow your engine to burn cleaner, with less emissions. You may even be eligible for a tax rebate from the IRS. In an effort to reduce emissions across the nation, the IRS is giving substantial credits to people who use "clean burning fuels" in their vehicles. A driver of a regular car could be eligible for $2,000 in additional tax credits, with larger commercial vehicles getting credits of $5,000 or more.

With gas prices reaching topping more than $4 a gallon in many places across the nation, now is an ideal time to invest in a simple hydrogen generator to increase the fuel efficiency of your car. After all, if it's good enough for NASA and the space shuttle, it should be good enough for you!

How Can I Improve My Gas Mileage?

How can I improve my gas mileage? I have been asking myself that question for a long time now. We have all had a good old moan every time that the price of gas has risen when we have gone to fill up, and like me most of us have just accepted it and done nothing about it. Now with the ever increasing price of oil, and with little sign of a drop in the price of gas at the pumps, it seems even more important to find ways to increase gas mileage.
So just how can I improve my gas mileage? and what are the main things about the way I drive that would cause low gas mileage? Well I have done a bit of research and have come up with a few simple ways to increase gas mileage just by improving my driving technique. They are only small things and most are just common sense, things like finding the optimum speed for gas mileage, and keeping my car and its engine regularly serviced, but all these little things together can add up and give you some real gas mileage improvements.

First of all fast driving and good gas mileage just do not go together, the faster you drive the more gas you use, and everyone knows that. But did you know that a car travelling at 80mph can use up to twice the amount of gas as a car travelling at 30mph. For most cars a cruising speed of around 50mph will give you significant gas mileage improvements. So you could say that "fifty is thrifty."

Another of the ways to increase gas mileage is the way we drive when it come to climbing a hill, try not to stay in a high gear for too long, this not only puts a strain on your engine it also uses more gas. Whenever possible try to build up enough speed before you reach the hill, this way you will have the momentum to climb the hill at a constant speed without having to keep changing down and revving the engine. Don't try coasting down a hill in neutral or with the ignition switched off to try to save on gas, not only is it dangerous as you do not have full control of the car it is also illegal and any fuel saving is negligible.

If you have a vehicle with a manual gearbox then changing gear at the right time can also give you good gas mileage improvements. Always accelerate gently and smoothly and try to change gear at between 2000 and 3000 rpm, the engine speed at which most cars run efficiently. If you have an automatic gearbox then always drive with the lever in the "drive" position as an automatic will sense for itself when to change gear economically. If you do need to override the gearbox manually then select the low or intermediate position rather than use the "kick-down" as this too increases gas consumption.

These are just a few simple ways to increase gas mileage, and added together you should be able to notice a drop in your gas consumption and so save a few dollars at the pumps. But while I was looking for ways to increase gas mileage I read about something that could give even better gas mileage improvements. With the new HHO gas mileage devices available you could cut your gas bill by 35% or more so I think that I will be doing a lot more research on this for a while.
